Key Responsibilities
We are looking for a person who has a flair for numbers and is adept in financial modeling to join the M&A team.
As an M&A Senior Consultant, you will be playing an integral role in business planning, financial modelling and strategic decision making for the client.
This role will allow you to gain exposure to an exciting, fast-growing diverse set of sectors and to learn and grow on the job while giving an opportunity to work with key international strategic and financial investors.
Key Responsibilities
• Identify, investigate and pursue business development opportunities to generate future revenue for the team.
• Do preliminary legwork in evaluating potential deal opportunities, including but not limited to analysis of industry construct, growth drivers and key competitors;
• Actively participate in the origination and execution of M&A and Advisory related transactions;
• Work closely with other teams in KPMG such as Audit, Legal, Tax teams to provide complete advice to clients;
• Work on a diverse range of mandates; including buy side, sell side and corporate advisory mandates;
• Assist senior professionals within the team, including during the M&A process;
• Support the day-to-day responsibility of execution on transactions, including interaction with clients and advisors;
• Prepare M&A documents including proposals, engagement letters, teasers, and information memorandums;
• Review client financial models from a conceptual perspective, provide inputs and incorporate changes to bring them to market standards;
• Develop full-scope financial model for businesses;
• Perform complex financial analyses of projects and develop scenarios to aid in strategic decision making;
• Conduct valuation using different approaches such as (1) DCF analysis, (2) comparable company analysis, and (3) precedent transactions;
• Perform strategic and financial business analysis;
Qualifications & Experiences
• Degree holder in Finance, Accounting, or numerate subjects, such as mathematics, engineering or related discipline;
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Investment Banking / Private Equity funds / Corporate Finance / Big 4 environment;
• Demonstrate a strong academic record and ability to commence/continue relevant post graduate studies (CFA, Master’s in Finance);
• Understanding of fundamental financial concepts and strong modeling skills, prior experience of developing full scope financial models is desirable;
• Excellent Excel skills or experience, including the use of charts, macros, and VBA;
• A keen eye for detail and an ability to sift through large data sets to extract meaningful information;
• Excellent time management skills, including the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal);
• Appetite and interest to learn about new sectors, industry and business models;
• An appetite, enthusiasm and passion for M&A, underpinned with a strong work ethic and strong motivation to achieve best outcomes for clients, KPMG and yourself.
